About the Department

The French department started the academic year with a resolution to become a leading centre of
excellence. We broke the record by having 12 students enrol for the French special programme and
more than 60 students enrolling for the beginners’ course. We had various new activities, both
curricular and extracurricular initiated by our enthusiastic students.
The department of French was established in 1944.This is the only college affiliated to University of Pune that offers French as a
Special subject. We have various activities organised for our students every year and have designed an enriching curriculum for our general as well as special students.

The French Exchange program has always been the highlight of our department. Every alternate year we choose students from our department to go for an academic exchange to France in the month of May, they stay with French families , attend classes with their French correspondants and visit various places.
