Internal Complaints Committee (ICC)

In today’s world, men and women work together on almost all fronts. Women are never at the back-foot anywhere. Yet women and students of all genders have to suffer sexual harassment which forces them to limit their ambitions and goals. Any form of sexual harassment is against the basic human right of freedom and right to live. Every individual deserves a workplace which is safe and secure in all ways. Basic respect is essential at any workplace.

Government of India proclaimed “The Sexual Harassment of Women at Workplace (Prevention, Prohibition and Redressal) Act, 2013 on 9.12.2013 which replaced Apex Court’s Vishakha Guidelines of 1997. The act laid down a grievance redressal mechanism under which it is mandatory for all educational institutions to set up Internal Complaints Committee (ICC) to look into such complaints. UGC has also enacted University Grants Commission (Prevention, Prohibition and Redressal of sexual harassment of women employees and students in Higher Educational Institutes) Regulation, 2015 on 02.05.2016.

  • Our College follows a Zero Tolerance Policy towards sexual harassment. The ICC is formed as per the directives issued by Maharashtra State Commission For Women (MSCW) and University Grants Commission (UGC).
