Dr. Chitra Sreedharan

Long experience of teaching English language and literature at leading educational institutions in Pune such as Nowrosjee Wadia College, Modern College, Shivajinagar and the Dept of English, Univ of Pune as a regular faculty member and as Visiting Faculty for Post Graduate courses in English. Have also done some corporate training for two leading companies in
Pune (M/s Krupp Industries Pvt. Ltd and Mercedes-Benz India) as a Resource Person for the Business English courses organized by the British Council in collaboration with Cambridge University(UCLES).

Have taught a range of English language and literature courses, though chief area of interest has been Poetry. M Phil was in the field of Nineteenth Century fiction (Title: The Struggle towards Self-Realization in the novels of Charlotte Brontë) and PhD on American Poetry (The Paradoxical Elements in the selected poetry of Emily Dickinson and Sylvia Plath). Another area of interest is Religion and Philosophy.

Have presented papers on a holistic approach to life by integrating science and religion. Recent area of interest is Bhakti poetry by Women saints in India.
