About NCC
The NCC organization came into existence on 15th July 1948, by an Act of Parliament, Govt. of India under the NCC Act XXXVI of 1948 under the ministry of Defence.
NCC (Naval Wing)
- NCC Naval Wing started in July 1952
- In Fergusson College Naval Wing Started 1952
Aims of NCC
- To develop character, courage, comradeship, discipline, leadership, secular outlook, spirit of adventure and sportsmanship.
- To create a human resource of organized, trained, and motivated youth, to provide leadership in all walks of life including Defence forces and be always available for the service of nation.
- To create suitable environment to motivate the youth to take up the career in the Defence services.
NCC (Army Wing)
- In 1921, Fergusson College started the UTC unit with two platoons.
- In 1926, the UTC strength of Fergusson College increased from two to three platoons.
- In June 1930, one platoon of the College of Engineering was transferred to the Fergusson College and since then Fergusson College enjoyed the privilege of contributing full company- a Coy and was reputed as The Best Drilling Company. Present Total Strength of NCC Army Wing is 53 cadets (for Three Years).

Criteria for Selection in National Cadet Corps
Eigibility Criteria for Enrolling in NCC (Army Wing & Naval Wing)
1. Students must enroll in Fergusson College’s FY BA/BSc Program.
2. The Student must be a citizen of India or a subject of Nepal.
3. You must have a good character and no criminal record.
4. Students must be willing to complete three years of NCC (C-Certificate).
5. You must meet the physical fitness standards set by NCC. This process often includes physical tests like running, push-ups, and sit-ups.
6. We will provide specific preferences for certain skills or talents, such as proficiency in music, dance, or sports.
7. Once a student is admitted to the FY BA/FYBSc program, they can fill out the willingness to join the NCC form.

The selection process includes a written Test, an interview, and a physical fitness test. The NCC officers will evaluate your interest and aptitude for the NCC.
Enrollment: After passing the scrutiny at the primary level, you must attend the selection procedure at the Battalion level. Upon selection at the Battalion level, you become eligible for NCC enrollment. The enrolment process includes filling up required forms and submission of necessary documents such as Bank Account details, Admission receipt, enrolment form, medical certificate, photographs, etc.
