IQAC: Policy for Training and Placements
Purpose
The college offers wide range of academic programmes in BA., B.Sc., B.Voc, M.A. and M.Sc. Majority of these programmes need support in terms of industrial training, internship and placements. Over a period of years, it was felt to establish placement cell. In the beginning, the cell/center was meant for placements in computer sciences. Later on, it was expanded and transformed into “Career Facilitation Center”. This center will address student needs especially for placements, inviting industries to campus, facilitating collaborations and supporting student progression.Scope of Policy
The policy will be for all activities/ programmes which will be related to academia industry linkages/ collaborations, student internships, placements and career facilitation for all students.Objectives
The main objective of the Career Facilitation Center is to groom the students, and guide them for choosing the appropriate career path, impart the knowledge, skill and aptitude for meeting the requirement of the recruitment process and on boarding the human resource.
- Promoting career counselling through guidance lecture programs by suitable corporate representatives.
- Maintaining an updated database, job profiles, recruitment patterns of the companies which helps to analyze and prepare the mindset of the students.
- The Placement Cell has an active file of the database with an ample record of the corporate world, which will be updated continuously.
- Helping every student to define his/her career interest through individual expert counselling.
- Establishing a cordial relationship with the industries, inviting them for campus recruitment drives, organizing technical seminars, workshops, and other relevant technical sessions.
Policy
The policy is to equip students with relevant and conceptualized professional skills and guiding them towards a bright future and career all around the world with the domain knowledge and values of — ‘Sincerity’, ‘Hard Work’ and ‘Ethics’. The industries/ companies will be invited to the campus for interactions, opportunities for internships, research and placement. the college will also make efforts to collaborate with industry networks/ associations like NHRDN, BNI and through memberships of organizations like BCIL, MCCIA, Cll, NASSCOM etc., which will bring variety of industry experts together on one platform to facilitate industry collaboration which will help in direct training of students and placements. If, the industry wishes to collaborate on other aspects including internships and placements, then the industry needs to enter into some formal kind of agreement in the form of”letter of intent’ ‘collaboration charter” or “memorandum of understanding’, which will be approved by the Governing Body. Industries wishing only to recruit students may not enter into formal engagement with the college.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Organizing training sessions in making the student community employable and meeting corporate expectations.
- Organizing and coordinating Campus Placement Programs.
- To prepare students to face campus interviews by arranging training in Aptitude tests, Group Discussions, Preparing for Technical and HR interviews through professional trainers
- Providing requisite training to students in the areas of Personality Development and Communication Skills.
- Collaborate with industry for live projects, research work, workshop or industrial visits, academic alliance with industries, Industry Institute Interaction activities to develop knowledge and skills of students.
