Department of B.Voc. Interior Design

INTERIOR DESIGNING & DECORATION (IDD) was started in DE’s JRVGTI in the year 1986 to train students in the area of Interior design. This course was initiated by Deccan Education Society as a self-financed ,Autonomous & part time course under VGTI Unit. Looking at the current demand of student Fergusson college has extended it as B.VOC. INTERIOR DESIGN (Autonomous) from June 2022. This programme has been approved by UGC and affiliated with Savitribai Phule Pune University.

Looking at the changing trend, college has decided to modify and tailor the courses in line with NSQF(National Skill Qualification framework). The National Skills Qualifications Framework (NSQF) is a competency-based framework that organizes all qualifications according to a series of levels of knowledge, skills and aptitude.

Students of the vocational course are more privileged due to their vocational training along with conventional knowledge based curriculum. This fact is considered while framing the syllabus. Proper emphasis is given on the theoretical component vis-à-vis its application keeping up the academic foundation.
