The Autonomy status has also allowed the evaluation process to evolve providing the students with variety of evaluation tools and methodologies which makes learning more effective and hones their skills for the professional world.
Since 2023-24 the department has implemented NEP oriented curriculum. A blend of theoretical knowledge of the subject along with applications of the same along with multi-disciplinary exposure to view Economics from a holistic perspective provides the students the tools required to excel. Offering elective papers in UG and PG has been an USP of the department to balance the Quantitative and Qualitative nuances of understanding Economics. Evolved evaluation with variety of tools and methodologies making learning more effective in long run and honing skills for the professional world. More focus on research skills, analytical thinking and developing critical acumen through core teaching and analysing data in evaluation techniques has been the primary focus. The programmes have blossomed into holistic spaces for students to explore, learn and apply more over the years. Major, Minor, Vocational Skill Course and Open Elective Courses under NEP have added to the flavours of Economics learning that the department has to offer.
