Library Collection
The Bai Jerbai Wadia Library on ground floor has nearly 2,43,656 books and many research journals. Brail books section is also part of library. We have rare books and rare form of book like manuscripts, palm leaves, matter/script written on silk cloth in our collection. These are preserved in the library with proper care and condition. Preservation of manuscripts and rare books is partly finished. Sheaf catalogue-the oldest form of catalogue is also available and preserved. Many research scholars and book-lovers have, over the years, donated a large number of their own personal collection to the library e.g. Wrangler R.P. Paranjpe, Dr. G.S. Mahajni, Prin. S.V. Kogekar, Prof. R.S. Joag, Prof. D.D. Wadekar many others and the Library has become fabulously rich in its valuable collection.
The library is blessed with a remarkable collection of statues and posters, dedicated to outstanding national leaders and educationalists. There are old trophies, cups and medals received by the college at different occasions. All these are displayed, with honor, in the library.
The library is fully automated/computerized. With the advancement of technology new form of books/journals like e-books, e-journals, databases are also part of library collection. Library has valuable collection of archives as well as current research.
All the housekeeping activities of the library are automated with ‘LIBMAN’ Library Management Software of Mastersoft ERP. The library has adopted the Dewey Decimal Classification and colon classification system both, for classifying the books and AACR –II system for cataloguing.

SAATHI ENABLING CENTRE AND BRAILLE BOOK SECTION
BJW Library have separate section reserved for the visually handicapped students. Library Provides Braille books, journals and well equipped computer lab with JAWS (Job Access with Speech) and NVDA (Non Visual Desktop Access) to visually handicapped students. Daisy Player for recording purpose, Screen Magnifyers, Screen reader, Scanning and reading software, Speech recognition Software, typing assistance software were provided to students. A training program is conducted for visually impaired students in collaboration with TTI (Technical Training Institute) & SAATHI enabling centre.
READING HALL
The entire first floor of the Library serves as a Reading Hall for students and is spacious enough to comfortably accommodate around 400 students at a time. This is perhaps one of the largest Reading Hall in Maharashtra.
On ground floor there are 7 cubicles for teachers. Teachers can read books and journals. Computers with internet facility is also available to teachers. They can search OPAC, e-resources, INFLIBNET N-List, databases.
UGC NETWORK RESOURCES CENTRE- Net lab and DST – FIST Lab
There are two Net Labs with 58 computers with printers available to the students/users with Internet/Wi-Fi Facility. Full library data, e-journals, databases, e-resources are accessible to the users from this Net lab. These two Net labs are situated on first floor.
Library Rules
1. The Library is open to the BONAFIDE students Only
2. Students are expected to wear the IDENTITY CARD while entering the Library. Identity Card is valid for the current academic year only.
3. Enter after registering your name in the GATE REGISTER and Punching ID card at the library main gate.
4. SILENCE should be maintained in the Library.
5. Eatables are not allowed in the Library.
6. Book issued from the Reading hall counter should be returned while leaving the Library.
7. Library authority is not responsible for any loss or damage to personal property/belonging left in the library.
8. Misuse of Library material or misbehaviour will result in expelling the student from the Library and strict disciplinary action will be taken by the College authority.
9. Media, Photography and Video Recording are strictly prohibited in the Library.
10. Mobile phones should be switched-off in the Library.
11. Students should keep their all belongings at the counter (without money and valuables things)
12. Identity Card and Library Card are not transferable.
13. Smoking, Chewing Tobacco etc. is strictly prohibited.
Rules-Book Lending Facility
Book Lending facility is available to all the bonafide students. They have to fill the form the Library for getting Library Cards. One book will be issued on one Library Cards for 8 days.
Junior College students - 1 Book
Under Graduate Students - 2 Books
Post Graduate Students - 3 Books
On the loss of a Library Ticket student should inform to the Librarian in writing. A new ticket will be issued on proper verification and on paying Rs.25/-
Procedure of issuing – Students should show the Identity Card, Library Card and book at the issue counter and write his/her name on the book card.
1. A book will be issued for 8 days. For unclaimed book the period can be extended.
2. The book borrowed should be returned on or before the last date given on the date slip. Late book will be charged fine as per the rule.
3. Students are responsible for the book borrowed from the library.
4. The Librarian can recall any book at any time.
5. The Students should check the book thoroughly for missing pages, Chapters, Pictures etc. while borrowing the book if found damaged kindly inform the Library staff.
Books Issuing Procedure
Students and staff members are given Identity cards with unique number written in Barcode form. At the same time every book has unique barcode number as well as RFID Tag. With the help of Barcode Scanner and RFID reader, Books are issued to members with in a fraction of minutes with the help of barcodes and tags. There is no need to fill the issue slip or signature.

Library Users
The library caters to students, teachers, scholars, researchers and senior citizens including scholars from abroad. People with different interest like students of architecture for library building, different subject experts for rare books, library science students do visit library. Thus BJW Library is unique in its building structure, huge spectrum of collection and different services.
Innovative Practices and Services
There are two Net lab having 58 computers with printer each. Students/users can use this facility free of cost.
Online Public Access Catalogue is important tool to search the title/author from the data of the library. Every single book, journal, non-print material is stored in the data of the library.
Information available in electronic form is accessible to the students from the library.
Library organizes and displays book collection of freedom fighter, social reformist like Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, Veer Savarkar, Lokmanya Tilak, Mahatma Jyotiba Phule, Mahatma Gandhi, Rajarshi Shahu Maharaj on their birth and death anniversary.
Library organises various seminars, panel discussions for the students and faculty members of institute on various trending topics regarding library. DES organised “Librarian’s Workshop” for the all library professionals under DES at BJW Library.
Library arranges orientation programme to students and faculty to make them acquainted with the library collection, section arrangement and services available to them from the library.
Information related to college, library, college staff, college students are cut and displayed on notice board and then filed.
New addition to the library collection are displayed and list are circulated and displayed on notice board.
A student or staff or researcher doing research and need a book from other library for short time or to consult B.J. Wadia library borrows the books from other library and returns it after finishes the purpose. B. J. Wadia library has tai-up and also developed the relation as well.
