Computer Science

The Department of Computer Science was established in 1986 with an undergraduate course of BCS [now called B.Sc. Computer Science]. There are two divisions for B.Sc.(Computer Science), with an intake capacity of 80 each. The first division started in 1986 and the second division started in 2000. Meanwhile the Computer Science department offered two postgraduate courses, M.Sc.(Computer Science) & MCA (Science). There are two divisions for M.Sc.(Computer Science), with an intake capacity of 30 each. The first division started in 1996 and the second started in 2002. The course MCA (Under science faculty) with an intake capacity of 60 was started in 2004 till 2017.

Over the last few years, with a great demand of IT and computer professionals, the department has started two more postgraduate programmes namely, M.Sc (Computer Applications) in 2018 and M.Sc. (Data Science) in the year 2019. The Computer Science department is more focused to strengthen its research base in the upcoming years and also to develop more collaborations with reputed National and International Institutes/Organizations to inculcate research amongst students and faculties.
